It is no secret that it is naive and unsafe to expect something good from murderous maniacs. The inner demons whisper wild and terrible things in their heads. Although nothing human is alien to them - treat a little boy with candy and pat on a blond head before being tortured to death and cut into pieces. Or take a photo of the victim for memory, not yet suspecting that this picture will be farewell for her.
In general, killers take photos of their victims quite often. Like a hunter, for whom the aerobatics is to capture the still living “game” for history on their own camera, the maniacs earnestly click the shutter so that later, looking through the printed silent testimonies of their inhuman deeds, they again revel in their own power over the fate of the unfortunate victim with a shudder of delight . However, there is undoubtedly a benefit from such posturing - and the evidence base after the capture of the scoundrels is wider, and the relatives of the victims get the opportunity to absolutely accurately find out the truth about the last hours of the life of their missing loved ones.
What kind of photos from the masters of pain and horror are present in the treasury of forensic science today? Let's take a look at some of them.
Rodney Alcala - hippie killer with a camera
The widest collection of photos of the victims belongs to an amateur photographer and part-time American strangler Rodney Alcala, who committed atrocities from 1971 to 1979 and took the lives of seven people under proven articles. Given the abundance of images, the estimated number of victims of the Dating Game Killer could be as high as 130 people! An elderly photographer with the appearance of a good-natured hippie offered the future victim a photo shoot, then playfully handcuffed him or tritely stunned him with a piece of steel rail, and then strangled him. Brought to life and again strangled. And so for several hours, each time peering intently into the eyes of his victim, from which the spark of life slowly slipped away.
Like many American serials, Alcala was repeatedly arrested, but decades could stop his successful “harvest” only at the very end of the seventies of the last century. An inhuman sentenced to death several times, one of whose victims was cynically raped with a nail hammer, was released due to the casual features of the US legal system and received a final sentence only in 2010 (!)
Due to the current moratorium on the death penalty, he is still alive and does not deny himself the attention of journalists and various fabulists-biographers, in a Washington prison.
John Wayne Gacy - a clown who liked to be photographed with victims
It is not necessary to strictly condemn people suffering from Coulrophobia - the fear of clowns. Perhaps they have good reason for this, which was given by a gay, rapist and killer clown in one bottle, John Wayne Gacy. This sick-headed bastard has come up with a stage persona that is perfect for disguising his inclinations as charity events, sneaking up on his future victims unnoticed. On account of the bloody "circus" more than thirty young men, whom he raped and strangled.
A cheerful children's clown named Pogo repeatedly advertised young people for unskilled contract construction work. The careless victim was stunned, tied up and became the object of sexual games with a deadly ending. Once, convinced of the complete failure of law enforcement agencies and his own impunity, Gacy lured two young men to his home. The clown buried them with enthusiasm and fantasy, in the 69 position, putting each member of his brother in misfortune into his mouth.
The seventies of the last century in the United States turned out to be very productive for serials. Gacy, who took life from 1972 to 1978, was nevertheless executed in May 1994 by injecting “death serum” into a vein.
Arnold Corll - Last Photo for Candy
And again the seventies. Between 1970 and 1973, the owner of a Houston Height candy factory provided free candy to about thirty male children and teenagers under 20. None of them endured such generosity - having got to Arnold Corll's house, the victims were tortured, bullied, followed by rape. At the end of a boring evening, Col's accomplices - David Owen Brusk and Elmer Wayne Henley Jr., who also participated in the bacchanalia, helped in strangling the unfortunate, or shot them in the head with a 22-caliber pistol.
A photograph of a child handcuffed next to a tool box for torture demonstrates the horror and desperation of the victim, who realized the whole disastrous situation in which she was not lucky enough to find herself.
Robert Ben Rhodes - trucker photographer
A photo of 14-year-old Regina Kay Walters circled the world as the last dying image of a young, slender brunette in love who became the victim of Robert Ben Rhodes, a serial Texas killer who worked as a truck driver.
Rhodes even equipped a special torture chamber in his truck, which he repeatedly used from 89 to 90 of the last century. The exact number of victims of the driver of "hell on wheels" is not known - experts who have studied Rhodes' routes believe that he killed about three times a month.
Rhodes was detained by accident by a police officer who decided to check a suspicious truck on the side of the road. This made it possible to save the last victim of the maniac, hobbled, with a horse bit in his mouth, whom Rhodes had raped over the past few days. Regina is not so lucky.
Harvey Murray Glatman - camera nerd
Another "professional" photographer who created deadly collages with fashion models dreaming of being on the cover of a detective novel. Strangled after repeatedly raping four girls with an ordinary household rope, the bespectacled photographer still kept his word - photographs of the victims fell into the hands of detectives, however, such a ending would hardly suit the girls themselves.
Taking advantage of the impotence of the victims, Harvey raped the victim at gunpoint, took another photo, then raped again, receiving ecstasy from the horror and pain of a helpless beauty. The murderer with a camera managed to commit three murders in a row, but the next chosen victim gives the puny photo-esthete a “bang”, takes away the gun and hands the scoundrel into the hands of the cops who have arrived on call. In November 1958, the district court gives the talented paparazzi a breath of stale air in the gas chamber, and photos of several of his victims will forever fill up the archives of the world's criminalists.
Murderers, maniacs, cannibals - all these are criminals guilty of terrible crimes. Among them there are also representatives of the weaker sex, distinguished by no less cruelty than men.
There are many killer maniacs in the world. They are responsible for the death of several thousand people. According to psychologists, maniacs are people with serious mental disorders caused by mental trauma or congenital diseases received in childhood.
John Wayne Gacy Jr.
John Wayne Gacy Jr. (1942-1999). Only 6 years this maniac rampaged, but during this time he managed to rape and kill at least 33 young men. Gacy's involvement in the rest of the murders remained unproven. After the perpetrator was arrested, police found 27 dead bodies in the basement of his Illinois home. The rest of his victims were found in the river a little later. Some of them were in obscene positions, with dildos or cocks in their mouths. The maniac liked to earn extra money at children's festivities, dressing up as a clown in a red wig. For this, Gacy was nicknamed "Pogo the Clown" and "Killer Clown". A series of murders was based on a sexual motive. In 1980, the offender was sentenced to death, but the sentence was executed only 14 years later by lethal injection.
Theodore Robert Bundy
Theodore Robert Bundy (1946-1989). The criminal was executed in 1989 using the electric chair. But the memories of his brutal activities, which began back in 1974, are still horrifying. When the maniac was caught, he confessed to more than thirty murders. But the investigation suggested that the number of victims could be more than a hundred. At the same time, the maniac not only cold-bloodedly and quickly killed his victims - he liked to first strangle people doomed to death. Bundy also raped the people he captured, while he did not know the prohibitions in his sexual activity. His sexual contacts were made not only with living people, but also with already dead people.
Sergey Tkach
Sergei Tkach (born 1952). This case turned out to be quite difficult for the investigators. After all, it was in the internal affairs bodies that Tkach served in his time. From 1980 to 2005, he raped and then killed 29 girls and girls. Several rape victims are lucky to be alive. The maniac himself claims that he took the lives of 80 to 100 people. Several people were convicted and served prison terms for crimes committed by him. In 2008, Tkach was sentenced to life imprisonment. In his aggression towards the female sex, the maniac blames his ex-wives, who turned him into a monster. The killer's extraordinary cunning helped him go unpunished for a long time. For example, he carefully concealed his tracks, and left the scene of the crime along the sleepers so that the dogs could not take his trail.
Donald Harvey
Donald Harvey (born 1952). Harvey is currently serving his life sentence in the Northern Idaho colony. And before going to prison, he worked in a hospital. The maniac called himself the "Angel of Death." After all, in twenty years of work in medicine, he helped 87 of his patients die. So he claims, and the investigation attributes Harvey from 36 to 57 murders. The orderly killed people with cyanide, insulin and arsenic. As a result, the victims died long and painfully. At the same time, the killer did not limit himself in the ways of committing violence. He strangled some of his victims, and sometimes even pierced their insides with the pointed end of a hanger, infected with hepatitis and turned off life support devices.
Moses Sithole
Moses Sithole (born 1964). This maniac for his bloody activities was nicknamed "South African strangler." He was sentenced to a total of 2,410 years in prison. In his secluded hideout, Sithole was able to torture and kill 38 people. The perpetrator also carried out 40 more rapes. It is clear that the killer will not be able to spend the entire term in prison. And he won't live to old age. After all, he was diagnosed with AIDS in 2000, which will significantly shorten his life. Notoriety maniac brought a small gap between his crimes. He did all of them in just one year. In 1994, Sithole was released from prison, in 1995 he was imprisoned there again. Forever this time.
Bell Sorenson Gunness
Bell Sorenson Gunness (1859-1908). Maniacs are not only men. This woman operated for several decades, during which time about 40 people became her victims. Born Brinhild has become a real symbol of female madness and cruelty. She herself did not spend a single day at work, and received funds for life from insurance companies. Those compensated her for the death of her loved ones, not suspecting who skillfully killed them. Bell herself was a very imposing lady, weighing 91 kilograms and 173 centimeters tall. She calmly started her business with her husband and children, then potential suitors began to fall into her clutches. In those days, such body shapes were considered quite attractive in men, as evidenced by the number of victims of a cold-blooded killer. Bell herself was nicknamed "The Black Widow". But her death is shrouded in mystery. Once she simply disappeared, the police after some time discovered her decapitated corpse. It is still unclear whether it was the criminal herself or whether she staged her death in this way. Indeed, at the time of the examination of the DNA material, it was not enough to confirm the death of the bloody killer.
Ahmad Suraji
Ahmad Suraji (1951-2008). This rancher from Iran confessed to killing 42 women. All of them were of different ages, and the bloody chain stretched for 11 years. The maniac first tracked down his victims, and then energetically killed them. In doing so, he used his own cruel rite. Suraji buried women up to their throats in the ground, and then strangled them with a piece of cable. The murderer was assisted in his actions by three wives, who were also convicted. Ahmad himself said that a prophetic dream prompted him to such atrocities. In it, his father appeared to him, who predicted the glory of a healer if a man kills 70 women and tastes their saliva. The son could not doubt these words and more than half carried out his plan. In 2008, the authorities shot the criminal.
Alexander Pichushkin
Alexander Pichushkin (b. 1974). After the end of the trial, the media dubbed the maniac the "Chessboard Killer." The fact is that the maniac intended to kill exactly 64 people, according to the number of cells on the chessboard. After each victim, one of her cells closed. According to the killer, he almost carried out his plan, taking the lives of 61 people. At the trial, Pichushkin's involvement in 48 murders was proven, which was enough for a life sentence for a maniac. He committed his first murder at the age of 18, the victim was a classmate of Alexander. The maniac's psyche finally took shape after the trial of Chikatilo, Pichushkin realized that he wanted to be like that one and even surpass him in the number of victims. The killer launched his activities on the territory of the Bitsevsky forest park. He lured homeless people and alcoholics into the depths, promising them free drinks, and then smashed their heads with a bat. Soon the maniac began to hunt acquaintances, since he was especially pleased to kill them.
Gary Leon Ridgway
Gary Leon Ridgway (born 1949). This maniac nicknamed "River Man" claims that in 16 years in Washington State he was able to kill more than 90 women. As a result, the court was able to prove 48 murders, the offender confessed to committing them. The methods he used were truly brutal. First of all, he quenched his sexual passion and tortured the victims, then he strangled them with ropes, cable or fishing line. He even had necrophilia. If the maniac did not have time to take possession of the victim during the life of the victim, then he entered into sexual contact already with the corpse. In 2003, Ridgway fully confessed to the atrocities, and his death sentence was commuted to life imprisonment.
Anatoly Onoprienko
Anatoly Onoprienko (born 1959). A maniac nicknamed the "Terminator" admitted that he had killed 52 people in his six years of hunting for people. Onoprienko calculated that the points of accomplishment of his acts on the map of Ukraine should form a cross. According to the maniac, all his actions are controlled by certain voices heard in his head. When Onoprienko was arrested, they found with him a gun that appeared in his early murders, and personal belongings of the killed people. He himself attacked people on highways and in remote homes. Maniac was sentenced to death in 1999, but it was soon commuted to life imprisonment.
Andrey Chikatilo
Andrei Chikatilo (1936-1994). This maniac is also of Ukrainian origin. For his actions, he received the nicknames "Red Ripper", "Rostov Butcher", and "Rostov Ripper". The killer operated from 1978 to 1990, during which time he took the lives of 52 people. Most of the victims were women and children. Chikatilo tried to rape them, but this was not always successful. But he got sexual pleasure by watching the suffering of dying people. The maniac brought death to his victims, trying to have sexual intercourse with them. In 1994, the killer got what he deserved - with a shot in the back of the head, the death penalty ended his life.
Pedro Alonso Lopez
Pedro Alonso López (b. 1948). This Colombian killer still continues to scare people, because he has remained uncaught. His whole life is a continuous drama. Lopez himself was a victim of molestation, had sex with his sister, visited a pedophile's brothel. When the boy grew up, he himself began to beat, rape and corrupt, as if in revenge on life. As a teenager, Lopez became a murderer, the first victim was his owner. He, like three of his other clients, was also skinned by the killer. As a result, the number of victims of the maniac exceeded all known cases. He was nicknamed "The Monster of the Andes". During interrogation, Lopez pointed out the burial places of 110 of his victims, claiming that he had killed more than 300 people in total. But in Ecuador, where the trial took place, there is no death penalty. As a result, Lopez served 16 years in prison, being released in 1999. His current whereabouts are unknown. Lopez even got into the Guinness Book of Records as the most bloody maniac in the world.
Yang Xinhai
Yang Xinhai (1968-2004). This Chinese maniac was able to kill 67 people in 4 years of his activity. Xinhai's criminal life began as a petty thief, but he soon moved from theft to violence and murder. The maniac often penetrated residential buildings and slaughtered entire families. From weapons he had a saw and an axe. Yang killed children and raped pregnant women, for his inhumanity the Chinese gave him the nickname "Monster Killer". He traveled across the country on a bicycle. When Xinhai was arrested, he said he enjoyed killing. According to the verdict of the court, the maniac was shot in 2004.
Pedro Rodriguez Filho
Pedro Rodriguez Filho (b. 1954). This maniac is called "Little Pedro the Killer". After all, he killed more than a hundred people in his life. Most of them stayed with Filho in prison, being prisoners, like himself. In 2003, the killer went to jail after he confessed to killing 70 people. Among them was the maniac's father. The court sentenced Filho in total to 128 years in prison, but the laws of Brazil will not allow a maniac to be behind bars for more than 30 years.
Elizabeth Bathory
Elizabeth Bathory (1560-1614). This woman went down in history under the name "Bloody Duchess". The Duchess was operating along with her four assistants. The court found her guilty of killing 600 women. However, most of them were virgins. The thirst for blood appeared in Bathory after her husband died from battle wounds. Personally, the duchess was convicted of the murder of 80 women, but she never officially appeared before the court. The noble family decided not to bring the case to public hearings, simply imprisoning Elizabeth in the dungeon of her own castle. Four years after the hearing, the duchess died. But it was not possible to hush up the matter, the fame of the bloody tormentor spread throughout Europe. She began to rank among the successors of the work of Count Dracula. Many legends about Bathory immediately appeared. So, they said that she loved to bathe in a bath filled with the blood of virgins. The Duchess believed that this would help her rejuvenate. As a result, Bathory entered the history of mankind as the most cruel female killer.
Javed Iqbal
Javed Iqbal (1956-2001). This maniac chose to commit suicide. In 2001, his body was opened in one of the Pakistani prisons, the body showed traces of numerous severe beatings. At one time, the court found Iqbal guilty of raping and killing more than a hundred children. But the matter is far from over. Indeed, after the death of the maniac, it turned out that many of the victims attributed to him were alive. Iqbal himself confessed to killing hundreds of children. The offender said that he first strangled them, and then cut the corpses into pieces, destroying the evidence in acid. At the crime scene indicated by the maniac to the investigation, the remains of the bodies, their photographs and things were found. Given the method used by the killer, it is impossible to accurately determine the number of his victims.
Tag Behram
Tag Behram (1765-1840). It is believed that this maniac killed a thousand people. He operated in India from 1790 to 1840. Behram was at the head of the brutal Tagi Cult gang. This bloody community attacked tired travelers and strangled them with a special, ritual piece of cloth. The bandits believed that only after performing such a deadly rite would it be possible to rob the dead.
Louis Alfredo Garavito Cubillos
Louis Alfredo Garavito Cubillos (born 1957). The maniac received a very eloquent nickname - "The Beast". Now he is serving time in Colombia, the court sentenced him to 22 years in prison. In 1999, the offender confessed that he had committed 140 rapes and then murders of boys. And according to rumors, in fact, the number of victims was twice as much. But Kubillos cooperated with the investigation and indicated the location of the remains of his victims, and also provided evidence for his crimes. That is why the maximum term of 30 years according to local laws was reduced by 8. But in the country not so long ago, changes in criminal law were adopted, which makes it possible to increase the duration of the imprisonment of a maniac. It must be said that there are all prerequisites for this. After all, the police believe that Cubillos committed many more murders than previously proven.
Gilles de Rais
Gilles de Rais (1404-1440). This nobleman, marshal and alchemist went down in history as well as an associate of Joan of Arc. It is believed that it was he who served as the prototype for the fairy-tale character Bluebeard. The judges accused Gilles of killing two hundred children, whom he allegedly sacrificed to the devil. De Rais was excommunicated, hanged, and his body burned. It should be noted that historians have doubts that it was de Rais who committed the alleged murders. After all, he refused to the last accusations, confessing only under the threat of torture.
Harold Frederick "Fred" Shipman
Harold Frederick "Fred" Shipman (1946-2004). This criminal had the longest list of proven murders. It is he who is rightfully considered the bloodiest serial killer in history. The court proved 218 murders he committed, but the exact number could be much higher. Once Shipman was an ordinary family doctor, respected in the district. But later he turned into "Doctor Death". The killer gave his patients lethal injections of heroin, while most of the victims were women. Although Shipman was sentenced to life in prison, he decided not to wait for his natural death. The killer spent only 6 years in the cell, after which he hanged himself. After a high-profile case, significant amendments were made to the legislation of England in the field of health care medicine.

At first glance, these photographs may seem ordinary and harmless, but behind each of them terrible events are hidden - from accidents to especially brutal murders and cannibalism.
1. There is nothing unusual in this photo until you notice a gnawed human spine in the lower right corner.
The heroes of the picture are the players of the Uruguayan rugby team Old Cristians, in a plane crash on October 13, 1972: their plane crashed in the Andes. Of the 40 passengers and five crew members, 12 died in the crash or shortly thereafter; five more died the next morning.
The search operations were stopped on the eighth day, and the survivors had to fight for their lives for more than two months. Food supplies quickly ran out, and they had to eat the frozen corpses of friends.
Without waiting for help, some of the victims made a dangerous and long transition through the mountains, which turned out to be successful. 16 men escaped.
2. In 2012, Mexican music star Jenny Rivera died in a plane crash. Selfie with friends on the plane was taken a few minutes before the tragedy.
No one survived as a result of the plane crash.
3. In August 1975, American Mary McQuilken photographed two brothers, Michael and Sean, in bad weather. They were on top of a cliff in California's Sequoia National Park.
A second after the picture was taken, all three were struck by lightning. Only 18-year-old Michael survived. In this photo - the sister of young men Mary.
The atmospheric discharge was so powerful and close that the hair of young people literally stood on end. Survivor Michael works as a computer engineer and still receives letters asking what happened that day.
4. Serial killer Robert Ben Rhodes took this picture of 14-year-old Regina Walters seconds before he killed her. The maniac took Regina to an abandoned barn, cut her hair and forced her to wear a black dress and shoes.
Rhodes toured the United States on a huge trailer equipped as a torture chamber. At least three people a month became its victims.
Walters' body was found in a barn that was supposed to be burned down.
5. In April 1999, high school students from the American Columbine High School posed for a group picture.
For the general gaiety, hardly anyone paid attention to the two guys, pretending to be pointing a rifle and a pistol at the camera.
A few days later, these guys, Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold, showed up at Columbine with guns and improvised explosives. Their victims were 13 students, and 23 people were injured.
The crime was carefully planned. The perpetrators were not detained because they shot themselves. Later it became known that teenagers were outsiders at school, and what happened was a brutal act of revenge.
6. In November 1985, the Ruiz volcano erupted in Colombia, causing debris flows to cover the province of Armero.
13-year-old Omaira Sanchez was the victim of a tragedy: her body was stuck in the rubble of a building, and the girl stood up to her neck in mud for three days. Her face was swollen, her hands were practically white, and her eyes were bloodshot.
Rescuers tried to rescue the girl in various ways, but in vain.
Three days later, Omaira fell into agony, became unresponsive to people, and eventually passed away.
7. It would seem that there is nothing strange in, on which the father and mother with their daughter are depicted. True, the girl turned out in the picture very clearly, and her parents - blurry. Before us is one of the posthumous photographs popular in those days: the girl depicted on it died of typhus shortly before.
The corpse remained motionless in front of the lens, and therefore it appeared clearly: photographs in those days were taken with a long exposure, and it took a long time to pose. Perhaps that is why post-mortem photos, that is, post-mortem photos, have become incredibly fashionable. The heroine of this picture is also already dead.
8. The woman in this photo died in childbirth. In photo salons for fixing corpses, special devices were installed, as well as opening the eyes of the dead and instilling a special agent in them so that the mucous membrane does not dry out and the eyes do not become cloudy.
9. It would seem that the usual photo of three divers. But why is one of them lying at the very bottom?
26-year-old Tina Watson died during her honeymoon on October 22, 2003, and divers accidentally discovered her corpse. After the wedding, the girl with her husband Gabe went to Australia, where they decided to go diving.
According to the photographer accompanying the couple, underwater, the man turned off his young wife's oxygen tank and held her at the bottom until she suffocated. When it turned out that Watson's wife had taken out a new life insurance policy shortly before the tragedy, and in the event of her death, Gabe would have received a considerable amount, everyone began to suspect him of premeditated murder. After serving a year and a half in prison, he returned to Alabama and was again put on trial, but the case was closed due to lack of evidence. Watson later remarried.
10. Looking closely, you can see that in front of this pensive African are severed children's feet and hands. The photo was taken in 1904.
Pictured is a Congolese rubber plantation worker who failed to meet his quota. As punishment, the overseers ate his five-year-old daughter, giving him the remains of the child as a warning. This was practiced quite often.
For non-compliance with the norms, execution was supposed. To prove that the cartridge was used for its intended purpose, and was not sold, it was required to provide the severed hand of the executed, and for each execution the punishers received a reward. The desire to rise in the ranks led to the fact that the hands were chopped off from everyone, including children. Those who pretended to be dead at the same time could stay alive.
11. At first glance, it looks like a picture from Halloween. Two Swedish schoolchildren thought the same on October 22, 2015, when 21-year-old Anton Lundin Peterson came to their school in Trollhättan in this form: they took what was happening as a joke and joyfully photographed with a stranger in a strange outfit.
Peterson slaughtered these youths and went after the next victims. He ended up killing one teacher and four children. The police opened fire on him and he died of his wounds in the hospital. The incident was the deadliest armed attack on an educational institution in Swedish history.
12. Americans Sailor Gilliams and Brendan Vega went camping together in the vicinity of Santa Barbara, but due to inexperience they got lost. There was no connection, and due to the heat and lack of water, the girl was left completely exhausted. Going for help, Brendan fell off a cliff and crashed.
And these photos were taken by a group of experienced tourists. Having already returned home, they were horrified to notice in the background a red-haired girl lying unconscious on the ground. Rescuers flew to the scene of the tragedy by helicopter, and Sailor survived.
13. It would seem that there is nothing unusual in the fact that an older boy leads the younger by the hand, but a terrible tragedy is hidden behind this picture.
10-year-olds John Venables and Robert Thompson stole 2-year-old James Bulger from a mall after being briefly left unattended by his mother, brutally, face-painted, and left for dead on railroad tracks to disguise the murder as a train accident.
The killers were found thanks to video footage from a surveillance camera. The criminals received the maximum term for their age - 10 years, which greatly outraged the public and the mother of the victim. Moreover, in 2001 they were released and received documents for new names.
In 2010, it became known that John Venables was returned to prison due to a parole violation.
Venables was later charged with possession and distribution of child pornography. The police found 57 relevant images on his computer. In the hope of obtaining other child pornography, Venables posed on the Internet as a 35-year-old married woman who boasted of the abuse of her eight-year-old daughter.
14. It seems that this is an ordinary New Year's family photo - as long as you do not get accustomed to the background.
The picture was taken by Filipino councilor Reinaldo Dagsa. The killer decided to take revenge on him for helping to arrest him for stealing a car.
It was the photo that helped to quickly identify the killer and send him back to jail.
15. A Chinese reporter captured fog on the Yangtze River and only after a detailed study of the photo found a man falling from a bridge on it. As it turned out later, a few seconds later his girlfriend jumped after him.
16. The camera with this picture was found in the washing machine of 27-year-old Travis Alexander. He was killed in the shower by 25 stab wounds, including to the neck, and a headshot.
His girlfriend Jody Arias was accused of what happened, with whom he was going to break up, but she pursued him and literally did not give a pass. After two years of investigation, Arias confessed to her deed.
Other images found at the crime scene showed the couple in sexual positions, and the shower image of Travis was taken at 5:29 p.m. on the day of the murder. In photographs taken just minutes later, Alexander was already lying on the floor, covered in blood.
17. A father and daughter posing for a photo are unaware that the red Vauxhall Cavalier behind them contains explosives that will detonate in a few seconds.
This terrorist attack in August 1998 was carried out by an illegal organization, the Genuine Irish Republican Army. 29 people died and more than 220 were injured. The camera with the first picture was found under the rubble, and his heroes miraculously survived.
Once you see these shocking crime scene images, it's impossible to stop thinking about them.
Even forensic experts admit that photographs from the scenes of monstrous crimes bear the imprint of a negative event captured on them. Such photographs make one think about the true animal nature of a person capable of killing for his own benefit or pleasure.
1. Mansion in Amityville
In 1974, the De Feo family settled in the suburbs of New York, with five children. A few years later, their eldest son Ronnie, after waiting for all the relatives to fall asleep, picked up a gun and shot his brothers, sister and parents. Ronnie is still in prison to this day and claims that he was ordered to do this by voices from the basement, who showed him terrible visions. Together with the police, exorcists got into the house, in the picture of which there was a girl who was strikingly similar to Jodie De Feo, Ronald's younger sister, who was dead at that time. This same girl constantly tried to get in touch with the next owners of the cursed house, until they fled in fear.
2 Florida Murder Mystery
In 1931, a strange crime happened in a Florida hotel. The owner of the room ordered breakfast in bed, and when the maid came to pick up the dishes and tidy up the room, she saw the guest lying on the table. There were no traces of a shot, as well as witnesses who heard the sounds of a struggle. The examination showed that the man was killed by a blow to the head with a blunt object, but no one entered the room - the doors to the hall and the balcony were locked. It was not possible to find the unknown killer.
3. Death of the groom
In 1927, a local influential businessman married in Los Angeles. The murder that happened at the wedding shocked all of America: the groom was asked to leave the restaurant for an urgent conversation. When he didn't return after 15 minutes, the fiancee and the boy's parents got worried and went looking for him. A stabbed body was found in the hallway, and the police considered every one of the wedding guests a potential suspect. Two years of investigation, accusations against the failed future wife and friends led to the fact that the case was closed without finding the culprit.
4. Gangster showdown
The beginning of the 20s of the last century became the golden era of gangsters for America. They were more influential than ever and therefore almost fearlessly staged a showdown on the streets, almost in front of the police. The murder from the picture was completely unusual for those times: one of the Texas mafiosi was overtaken in the wilderness during a vacation. He was spending time there with his mistress when competitors broke into the house and killed them both. The bandits hoped that the bodies would never be found, but the police discovered the crime scene three days after the massacre.
5. Happy girlfriend
In 1933, a young man named James, who was vacationing on the coast with his girlfriend, drowned in America. A photograph from the place where the body was found hit the media and provoked mass unrest because of the smiling girl depicted on it. While those crowded over the drowned man are trying to somehow help him, his girlfriend happily looks into the lens. The police bombarded her with questions, but the girl said that she smiled reflexively when she saw that the photographer was looking at her.
6. Destroyed evidence
The legacy of the gangster era has left the United States with a vast array of professional killers who cover their tracks perfectly. In the photograph you can see a head found in one of the sparsely populated alleys of New York. The severed part of the body was treated with acid and vinegar, so the investigators could not even find out what race and gender it belonged to during life.
7. Death penalty
It was only in the 1970s that America passed a law legalizing abortion, after which many women breathed a sigh of relief, since they would no longer have to turn to underground doctors. The founders of illegal abortion clinics were punished with prison terms and huge fines - and even this did not stop them from greed! The gynecologist whose office was pictured went to the electric chair because three of his patients died from severe bleeding.
8. Body chest
Criminals of the last century believed that the chest was a great way to hide a corpse from prying eyes. It was floated on the water, buried in the ground or burned to get rid of the body and evidence. In 1925, the killers in Chicago failed to carry out their plan: the chest surfaced and the robbers who decided to kill were found.
9. Collective suicide
In 1997, Heaven's Gate cult founder Marshall Applewhite ordered his followers to commit collective suicide. According to him, he had the most serious reasons for this: aliens planned to capture the Earth, and he decided to help his followers teleport to the Hale-Bopp comet in order to settle on it with the whole community.
10. Mass poisoning
Marshall, with his grandiose plans to move, was far from the American preacher Jimmy Jones. Jimmy founded the Peoples Temple sect and, for the sake of his own ego, forced its fans to commit the most numerous suicide in history: on November 18, 1978, 918 cult members agreed to voluntarily poison themselves with cyanide.
