The fauna of our planet is very rich and diverse on all continents, in all countries, regions and regions. Many species of animals live at all latitudes, from the North Pole to Antarctica. And in hot climates, they are especially numerous. The hottest continent is Africa, where temperatures sometimes reach over 50˚C. Well-known elephants, giraffes, hippos, lions, cheetahs, zebras, rhinos, various monkeys, small, large, bright and birds of prey, and many other animals live there.
But besides Africa, there are a large number of hot regions on our vast planet. These are deserts and semi-deserts of different continents. The desert is an arid natural area where the annual rainfall is less than 25 cm. Even during infrequent rains, the desert soil almost does not absorb water, therefore it dries quickly. The average temperature in hot deserts is above 30˚С, and sometimes reaches 50˚С. But, despite the adverse conditions, a wide variety of life forms can be found in the deserts. Animals in deserts mainly get water from food.
Sweat, urine and other bodily fluids are almost not emitted from them - this retains precious moisture. Most large mammals have thick hair on their bodies to protect them from the heat. Small animals usually settle underground, where they survive the heat of the day. Many desert animals are nocturnal.
The giraffe is common in Africa south of the Sahara Desert. It is absent in dense forests, it can be found in savannahs or light forests. Height - up to 6 m, weight - up to 750 kg. The giraffe feeds on leaves, shoots and flowers of trees, especially acacias and mimosas. Leaves deftly cut off with a long tongue. Even the most thorny acacia branches do not interfere with him at all. Lives in small herds. The female gives birth to one cub up to 180 cm tall. The newborn rises to its feet in a matter of minutes and follows its mother. Due to its height and strong legs, the giraffe has almost no natural enemies. Even a lion will decide to attack him only during a watering place. This is the most dangerous moment for a giraffe, because he has to not only tilt his head low, but also spread his legs wide.
A well-deserved sprinter, the cheetah also inhabits hot regions, Africa and some desert regions of Asia (Iran). He hunts during daylight hours - in the morning or in the evening - for gazelles and other small, very fast antelopes (springbok, impala). Less commonly, it can also hunt large prey - wildebeest, oryx or waterbuck. Most of the time it stays alone. If several cheetahs are seen together, this is mainly a group of brothers and sisters that has not yet broken up, or a mother with already large children. There are usually four blind kittens in a litter. Then the cubs up to one and a half to two years remain in the care of their mother. Young cheetahs have semi-retractable claws, but with age they become blunt and non-retractile, like a dog's.
Among the wildlife of hot regions, you can often meet the black-backed jackal. It can live in various landscapes, but avoids dense forests. One of the most omnivorous members of the family. The black-backed jackal eats various small animals. Sometimes it picks up the remains of the prey of large predators, does not disdain carrion. Forms permanent pairs. It often digs its own burrows, but most often uses old fox or porcupine burrows. The female gives birth to three to eight cubs. The male is involved in the rearing and rearing of offspring. The black-backed jackal enjoys a well-deserved reputation as a parasite. Often joins the meal of a lion or tiger, without waiting for them to eat. Without the slightest fear, steals tidbits from under the hyena's nose. A person steals everything that “lies badly”, in landfills he is not at all embarrassed by the presence of a pack of stray dogs.
Many insects, lizards, rodents and other small animals are also an important part of the wildlife of hot areas.
A very interesting insect is the horn-winged empusa, which lives in deserts with sparse shrub vegetation of the Middle East, Transcaucasia and Central Asia. This bizarre insect has a body length of up to 65 mm. It feeds on insects, which it catches with its front pair of legs. On the head of the empusa there is a small area of chitinous cover, which, like a mirror, reflects the sun's rays. This creates the illusion of a shiny dew drop. It is a kind of bait for other insects of the hot season. Most often, flies flying to get drunk are tempted by it, and in return they fall directly into the deadly embrace of a predator.
Several species of turtle cockroaches are common in the sandy and clayey deserts of Central Asia. They eat a variety of plant foods. The female lays several dozen eggs, "packed" in a dense chitinous shell called ootheca. The turtle cockroach becomes an adult in the fourth year of life. These insects are nocturnal. From the heat of the day they hide in various hiding places, most often in the holes of rodents. Often a whole group of insects of different ages populate here.

Hello!
In preparation for school, introduce your child to animals that live in different parts of the globe. Today I suggest you read to your child about some animals living in hot countries.
What animals live in hot countries?
The monkey, the lion, the elephant, the kangaroo, the camel, and many more animals live in hot countries and are wild animals, because they live separately from people and get their own food.
Of all animals, monkeys are the most similar to humans. Perhaps that is why children and adults love to watch them. Monkeys play with pleasure, have fun chasing each other and building funny faces.
The monkey has a long tail with which it clings to tree branches. With her hands, she deftly plucks bananas and other fruits from them. The monkey is very smart. For example, if she needs to reach for a juicy and tasty fruit that hangs too high, then she will take a stick and knock it down. No other animal can think of something like this.
The lion is a very beautiful and formidable beast. He is incredibly strong and can knock down even a bull to the ground with one blow of his paw. The lion's roar is so loud that you can go deaf from it. No wonder the lion is called the king of beasts.
The lion has a large shaggy mane and a tufted tail. Most of the time he rests or guards his family. Hunting is usually a lioness. She is slightly smaller than a lion and has no mane.
Lions feed on the meat of animals caught on the hunt. Having had a good meal, they can eat nothing for several days.
Be sure to watch wonderful cartoons about lions: The Lion King, The Lion and the Turtle, Boniface's Vacation.
The elephant is the largest animal that lives on land. It is good that he is not a predator yet, otherwise other animals would have had a hard time. The elephant feeds on leaves and fruits of trees, twigs and grass.
The elephant has huge ears, thick legs and a long trunk, which he uses like a hand: he picks fruits from trees, pours water over him. The skin of an elephant is very thick. Even the sharpest thorns cannot pierce it.
The elephant is not afraid of anyone. After all, if he gets angry, he can simply trample his enemy. Therefore, other animals, and even a lion, treat him with respect and always give way.
Kangaroo is one of the most amazing animals on Earth. A kangaroo has a warm soft bag on its stomach, in which its cub hides. He is born very tiny, smaller than your little finger, and immediately crawls into his mother's bag. Only six months later, he gradually begins to crawl out. When the cub turns one year old, he leaves his mother's pouch forever.
Kangaroo world champion in long jump. With one jump, he can easily jump to the other side of the street! And all this thanks to strong long legs. But with the help of short front legs, kangaroos sometimes push or fight with each other, like real boxers.
Kangaroos usually feed at night. They eat grass or tree leaves.
You may have seen on TV how a camel slowly wanders through the hot desert with a person or a heavy load on its back. It seems that he seems to be floating on sandy waves. Perhaps that is why it was called the "ship of the desert."
The camel is very hardy. He easily tolerates terrible heat and severe cold. A camel can go without drinking for several days, and go without food for even more. The hump in which food is stored helps him not to die of hunger. The camel eats a wide variety of food and even thorns.
When you see a camel in the zoo, don't go near it. Camels are great at spitting!

Yes, hot countries are countries where it is always hot, it never snows, but this is not only a desert, in hot countries there are also hot plains - semi-deserts, and fertile tropical steppes, and humid tropical jungles. Remember? We still have a whole week ahead of us and we'll talk about it again.
And now, look at the flower in my hands, it is not ordinary, why? (multi-colored petals).
This flower is magical, with its help we will go on a journey. Look, something is written on the petals, yes, this is a task with which we must cope. Shall we try? (Yes). If we guess, we will find out where we will go to travel.

What kind of outlandish animals you will not meet in the expanses of hot countries: huge elephants, long-necked giraffes, formidable tigers and jumping kangaroos. But sometimes all knowledge about them is limited to all known facts that will not surprise even the smallest children. For those who want to tell children more, the following interesting facts about animals will be of interest.
The kings of animals keep a lot of interesting things, namely:
- Despite the courage and courage of all predators, they have the smallest heart in size.
- Lions are real dormice, per day they sleep 20 hours.
- The muzzle of these predators is unique, it is impossible to find two lions in which it will be completely the same, although people do not always notice this.
- Maybe in appearance they are formidable creatures, but in the circle of their pride they behave very affectionately, they like to rub their muzzles against each other.
- Lions can start roaring only after two years, before that time they simply do not know how to do it.
- Lionesses feed with their mother's milk not only their cubs, but also all others in the pride.
- Taking food from other predators is not the style of lions, they disdain to eat what jackals and hyenas have touched.
- Just for fun, they do not hunt, so next to an unhungry lion, even zebras can sleep peacefully.
Herbivorous giraffes are no less interesting.
- If people have unique patterns on their fingers, and lions have muzzles, then giraffes have a heel on the skin as a unique recognition sign.
- Giraffe cubs begin their lives with a difficult test: falling from a height of two meters.
- The maximum how much this long animal sleeps per day is one hour, and more often twenty minutes in general. Moreover, this dream occurs in a standing position, one can only be surprised at how they do not fall at this moment.
- The color of their tongue is black, and has an incredible length of 50 centimeters.
- There is no order in the herds of giraffes, no matter what gender and age they are, everyone is equal and free access to it is open to everyone.
- Only a giraffe can't yawn.
- They sleep little, but they eat a lot, up to 20 hours a day. We can say that food is the main part of the life of these amazing animals.
What is unusual behind an animal that looks so much like a person?
- In fact, the relationship between humans and gorillas is scientifically justified, because DNA matches 98 percent, in addition, they, like humans, have 10 fingers on the lower and upper limbs and 32 teeth.
- Many females do not give birth, like other wild animals, of which one offspring can reach 20 cubs. Most often, in a lifetime they have no more than three children. Pregnancy lasts quite a long time. Approximately 8 months.
- Gorillas know how to cry, but not with tears like people, but by making mournful sounds.
- Up to three years, cubs are not able to exist without the help of their mother, she feeds them, wears them and protects them from danger.
- These large primates do not like water, they try to hide from the rains, and water is obtained from green leaves.
- Gorillas live quite a long time for animals, up to 50 years.
- At the age of 8, females have to leave their family and look for a new one, so they become adults and enter adulthood.
So black with white stripes or white with black? Eternal mystery.
- Multiple studies have proven that the zebra is still black with white stripes.
- Despite the love of cleanliness and the constant crawling out of each other, zebras do not deny themselves dirty dust baths.
- Zebra mother's milk is not white, but a delicate pink.
- Zebras are team animals, they coexist in herds and stand guard while their relatives rest.
- In the herds, everyone is divided into small families, family in general is the main distinguishing feature of these amazing animals.
- Since ancient times, people have tried to make zebras domestic, to tame them, but even today no one succeeds. Zebras love freedom, although their coexistence cannot be called absolutely free.
- Females carry babies for a whole year before giving birth to those.
- Zebras can sometimes mix with ponies, horses, and even donkeys. The resulting hydroid individual is called a zebroid.
What if the elephant was a predator?! Then many would have had a hard time, because they are able to kill by weight alone. But only they are not predators, and everything else is very kind. And here's what else is interesting about them:
- For two whole years, females bear their cubs, it remains to be hoped that all this time they, as people, are not tormented by terrible toxicosis.
- Elephant calves do not have teeth at birth, as in human cubs, they first have milk teeth, and only after molars.
- 300 liters and 300 kilograms: Only elephants can eat and drink that much in one knock.
- Matriarchy reigns in the herds of elephants, mature and strong females become leaders.
- Each individual elephant has its own unique ear rim.
- Elephants do not know how to run at all, their fastest movement is accelerated walking.
- They eat not only grass and leaves, berries, fruits and even the bark of trees - that's what a real delicacy is for them.
- There are animals weighing 6 kilograms, and there is the brain of an elephant, which weighs exactly the same. By the way, this affects their mental characteristics, because they are one of the most intelligent animals.
The world of animals is very amazing, sometimes the facts about them can delight, and sometimes even scare. Our smaller brothers will surprise us more than once with newly exposed discoveries. In the meantime, here are some more amazing facts about animals from exhausting hot countries:
- The lion remains king only in a hot climate; in a cold area he will be overcome by another king - a polar bear.
- Ostriches can be safely called single fathers, they mate with several females at the same time, and subsequently they lay their eggs in one nest and leave it to the care of their father.
- Male monkeys go bald.
- Crocodiles, in addition to tasty food, also swallow stones, which helps them dive deep.
- If gorillas are fed birth control pills, they will not get pregnant during mating, just like humans.
- Elephants can draw.
- One monkey received a medal and a military rank during the First World War, maybe they really look so much like people?

The lion is a predator, stalking prey. The lion has a big head, a fluffy mane, but the lioness has no mane. The lion is not afraid of anyone. As a rule, lionesses go hunting. They are more mobile, dexterous, more successful in hunting. Lions are heavy, slow, lazy. The meat obtained by lionesses is first tasted by the owner. Therefore, he is always plump, full and does not hunt himself. When he goes hunting, he does not hide, does not attack his prey surreptitiously, but proudly warns: growls - I went hunting, beware of the animals.

Gathers leaves and fruits from trees, tears grass, drinks, can carry trees. With a trunk, he defends himself from enemies, washes, collecting water in his trunk and pouring himself from above.
Who can harm an elephant? (A mouse, when an elephant is sleeping, climbs into the trunk and gnaws everything; and an ant, while the elephant sleeps, gnaws the soles of the feet, and the elephant cannot walk).

Especially large fangs in the lower jaw. With this jaw, he picks up algae from the bottom, like with an excavator bucket. Although it seems that the hippopotamus is big and lazy, it actually swims well and runs fast on land. Our big hippo has a little friend. Who is it? (A bird sits on the head of a hippopotamus when it sits in the water, so it catches fish for itself; the hippopotamus bird cleans its skin from insects, heals wounds).

The front legs are longer than the hind legs, and there are small horns on the head. Spots on the skin help to camouflage among the trees from predators. And the cubs of a giraffe are called giraffes. A giraffe, like a camel, can also go without water for a long time during a drought in the savannah.
